It was not long enough before John Rockefeller became the country’s first billionaire. David Rockefeller, the remaining grandson of John Rockefeller, was named as the world’s oldest billionaire before he died at the age of 101.
According to an article by Forbes, David was worth around $3.3 billion and was the 604th richest among billionaires.

The Rothchild Family was considered the richest family in the world in the 1800’s. They originated from Frankfurt and established multiple financial institutions. The founding Rothchild was Mayer Amschel Rothschild who established his banking business in the 1760’s. Mayer had five sons who established the banking business in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Vienna and Naples.
Today, they have interests in finance, mining, wine, energy and farming. The family is very private and many conspiracy theories surround them and their wealth. As they kept all the banks within the family, this enabled them to be secretive about their true wealth.
